Description
Circa 1790, an excellent spy glass / monocular with ray skin covered barrel with collars and eye-piece of stained horn, fully retractable single wooden draw tube finished in covered tooled decoration, signed, ‘Dollond, London’. The lenses are damage free and the instrument gives an erect, clear upright image. The main lens has a viewing aperture of 29 mm.
Excellent condition throughout. Contained in lined shark skin case.
